Financial institution National Investment Bank (NIB) has made a donation of GH₵100,000 to the Ghana Sports Fund.

The donation, made on Friday, February 13, becomes the first major contribution the fund has received since its establishment. The contribution comes as a huge boost as it shows a seal of approval and confidence in the initiative and its objectives.

The purpose of the Fund is to mobilise and manage resources transparently for athlete development, grassroots sport, infrastructure, capacity building, and high-performance preparation.

Mrs Esther Agyemang Prempeh, Ag. Chief Client Experience and Corporate Communications Officer, made the presentation on behalf of NIB Management.

Dr David Kofi Wuaku, Administrator of Ghana Sports Fund, together with the Chairperson, Prof. Koryoe Anim-Wright of the Board, expressed delight at the donation.

The Minister for Sports and Recreation, Hon. Kofi Adams, expressed profound appreciation to NIB and assured that the funds will be used judiciously in the development of Ghana's sports.

"Every amount received will be used for the purpose for which the fund is being created," he stated.
