Access to information held by the Ghana Sports Fund under Act 989
Your Right
The Right to Information Act, 2019 (Act 989) gives every person the right to access information held by public institutions, subject to the exemptions set out in the Act. The Ghana Sports Fund is a public institution and is committed to giving effect to this right.
How to Make a Request
To request information held by the Fund:
- Put your request in writing. You may send it by email to info@gsf.gov.gh with the subject line "RTI Request", or deliver it to the Fund's offices.
- Include your name and contact details so we can respond to you.
- Describe the information you are requesting as clearly as you can. This helps us locate it quickly.
- State the form in which you would like to receive the information, for example electronic copy or printed copy.
You do not need to give a reason for requesting information, except where the Act provides otherwise.
What Happens Next
Your request will be handled in accordance with the procedures and timelines prescribed by Act 989. We will acknowledge your request, and you will be notified of the decision. Where a fee applies, it will be in accordance with the fees approved under the Act, and you will be informed before the information is produced.
If a Request Is Refused
If your request is refused in whole or in part, you will be given the reasons for the refusal as required by the Act. You have the right to apply for an internal review of the decision, and thereafter to seek redress through the Right to Information Commission and the courts, in accordance with Act 989.

The Fund publishes information about its work on this website without the need for a request, including:
- Transparency: how the Fund is financed and how funds are applied
- Reports and documents
- Governance: the Fund's board and leadership
- News and updates on the Fund's activities
